We love it when our former students stay in touch.

Have a look at what they are up to now!

Lucy Perrin (2018) " I'm currently a second year Architecture student, at Oxford Brookes university. I try to attend ballet classes when I can, and have been involved in the university’s dance society and shows. However, I really miss dancing regularly, and the family of dancers at DSD; it is always a highlight of my holiday to pop back in!"

Olivia Cann (2018) "Currently training at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. DSD was such a huge part of my life whilst growing up and made me realise that I wanted to become a professional dancer. It always felt like home when attending classes and Lisa is such a kind, engaging and supportive teacher. Even though I would have long days dancing at college I would always be so excited to do even more with Lisa as she really pushed me to my limits and made me the dancer I am today. I couldn’t of done it without her!"

Romina Hytten (2017) "Working as a professional actor and puppeteer.

The Lorax (The Old Vic & Royal Alexander Theatre, Dinosaur World Live (USA and UK Tour, Running Wild (UK Tour and Regents Park Open Air Theatre) and will soon be opening in The Life of Pi in London's West End."

Lydia Hughes (2017) "I am currently in my third year studying Physical Education and Sports Studies at the University of Worcester. I juggle University studies with my part time yard job and rowing training, hoping to compete in the regatta season this coming Summer! Hoping to take up a career as a Physical Education Teacher in future! I will be looking to take up adult ballet lessons on my return from Uni!"

Imogen Peters (2017) "I left to become International Cabin Crew for British Airways. I'm now work for AJW Aviation as an MRO Customer Executive. I would love to return to ballet when possible."

Amber Wadey (2017) "I've been pursuring an acting career, working for various companies and touring shows.
I have gone on to study Acting with Court Theatre Training Company, I will get my degree at the end of July. I have had ballet lessons on my course and like to pop back to the village hall when I can!"

Abbie Mutch (2016) "I'm currently in my final year of my undergraduate degree in Management with Marketing at Bath. I still enjoy dancing whenever I can do it and I would love to return to Davies as soon as I can!"

Georgina Turier-Duerden (2014) "Left in 2014 but always popping back when I can! I went on to train at Trinity Laban Conservatoire completing my degree in Contemporary Dance in 2017. Since then I have been working freelance as a performer and I am currently working with Ffin Dance as a company dancer. I have also been teaching dance classes to varying ages at schools and to professional dancers across Sussex and London, including returning to Davies to teach creative contemporary classes. I am now also teaching barre fitness classes at Define London in central London."

Kate Easter (2015) "I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology, and now getting my Masters degree in Neuropsychology, but I'm still dancing for fun."

Sophie Bonnel (2011) "I left Davies School of Dance when I moved to University to study Politics where I continued dancing and competed for the University of Sheffield in advanced ballet and advanced modern. Since leaving University I moved to London, where I try my very best go to a ballet class once a week at Pinapple Studios and take advantage of living close to amazing theatres! Whilst my day job doesn't involve any pirouttes (working in Public Affairs and Government relations since 2015 and now working as an Executive Assistant to AXA UK&I CEO) I know that many skills you learn through ballet are really transferable and having a hobby that I enjoy so much is something I'll always be grateful to Lisa for."

Lara Bugle (2011) "I read History of Art at Leeds university and still danced there until my third year (my dissertation ended up taking over my life!) After leaving university I moved to the French Alps for 4 years, eventually becoming a general manager of a restaurant in the resort of Tignes. I’m now back in England, living in London and the brand and marketing manager for Gaucho and M Restaurants. I will always thank Lisa for my impeccable turn out, posture (definitely ideal for a job that requires sitting at a desk) and love for music and moving, I’ll always be the first on the dance floor!"

Rosemary Hopper (2010) "Over the years, I’ve left school, had jobs in equestrianism and now work with special needs at a school for cerebral palsy. I also have my own Makaton page ‘SignwithR&A’ which has taken off a blast! I also started ballet again late last year and went straight into Advanced foundation classes. So glad I joined ballet again after 10 years!"

Milly Gifford (2010) "I read English at St Andrews and still danced there. After graduating I completed teacher training through Teach First in Portsmouth, now I’m an English Teacher in Winchester with responsibility for coordinating Literacy across the curriculum. Love getting involved in school music, drama and dance events still! I came back to Lisa’s classes for a year or so after uni, I would love to do more if I lived nearer!"

Hannah Perrin (2008) "I did a degree in English and Creative Writing at Chichester University then moved to Stratford upon Avon where I did an MA in Shakespeare and Theatre, doing my final dissertation on Shakespeare and Ballet. I've since set up my own theatre company."

Hannah McChesney-Martin (2002) "I left in 2002 I think! Travelled the world for a few years working with horses until I met my husband and settled back in Sussex. I then went on to train to be a Veterinary Nurse and have worked in the profession for 11 years. It was only when my 3 year old daughter started ballet with Lisa last year that I decided to come along to the adult classes after not dancing for 16 years. Needless to say I am still very rusty but I'm enjoying being back where my love of ballet started"

Callie Gaston "Studying at the International Opera Academy"
